Very good movie. The action scenes were good. Dora, the explorer as a franchise has done the job again. The movie has something more for adults too, it is not just another a kids movie. Funny & witty characters adds good flavor to this movie. The cast is wonderful and has done a wonderful job. It portrays good family and relationship values in a better way. It has good surprising elements.
Disappointing movie !! Dora is disappointing as there was no good acting and story was also not interesting. You will feel bored during the movie. It could have been better but for kids - it can be one time watch. As for adults nothing to see. Acting was poor and direction was bad.
It's a big budget action Dora the explorer movie with Dora as teenager - why does that sound like the most retarded thing in the history of the universe, oh ya it's Dora the explorer you know the Nick's show for babies! As for the humour it's unfunny lazy and childish, the characters are good.
Dora finds the lost city of gold, but the movie doesn't find the director. The movie was mediocre, but with some special moments. The direction, acting were average, but the biggest star of the movie is CGI special effects which were awesome. The first half of the movie is very slow & boring, but the movie picks up pace in the second half when journey of exploration begins & when the lost city of gold is discovered. So if you like exploration adventure movies, this is a one time watch, but don't expect too much & you won't be disappointed, just watch the movie for entertainment.
It's a Dora inspired movie rather than a Dora movie. In that sense, the movie is good but could have been better. Kids were seen enjoying the movie wholeheartedly, so you can take them. It is quite an entertainer - no boring moments. Well made & very well acted with a good story line. A good watch for entire family. Kids shouldn't miss it at any cost.
It's a big budget live action - Dora the explorer movie with Dora as a teenager, why doeS that sound like the most retarded thing in the history of the universe, oh ya it's Dora the f#%king explorer you know, the nickjr show for babies! So as for the humor is concerned - its unfunny lazy and childish, the characters are boring. Diego is unrecognizable and why is this actresses makeup making her look browner, the plot is not creative and feels like it desperately wants to be tomb radar or uncharted but it can't because it's Dora. So Dora is starting high school and it's portrait the same as in every other kid's movie fear of not fitting in being the social out cast the hole big deal high school is nothing like this the scariest thing that could possibly happen is a school shooting and this is Dora so obviously that's not going to happen. And as for boots and swiper...kill them kill them with fire! So is this appealing to fans of Dora I fail to see why there would be any but there are several messed up scenes including Dora singing a poop song wile digging a pooping hole, there's scorpions banging on one of the forgettable character's heads you did hear right, and there's also a scene were a puff of smoke from a flower causes our characters to take a drug trip and we see them as characters from the cartoon and backpack and the map turn out to be drug fueled hallucinations, because isn't that what you always wanted from Dora the explorer, all I wanted was to never be exposed to it again. Oh and also boots ends up talking to Dora near the end of the movie and he's voiced by Danny Treijo how mutch did they pay him to waste his time on this project, and he's also telling Dora about puberty you heard right again, God this is starting to sound like ideas for a robot chicken sketch. Now I am 1000% sure that the people behind nickelodeon where dropped, they can't think of anything someone outside the single didget age group would enjoy because they still have the minds of kids with single didget ages think about it, they marketed after earth, the last airbender live action movie and now they actually chose to market this movie.Enjoyable story with themes of being true to yourself and friendship, with a fast-paced story and enjoyable characters. It touches all the annoying Dora animated feature qualities (contrasted with Diego’s more chill dudeness) that have annoyed parents who endured hundreds of hours of Dora’s “relentless positivity.” But this film reminds us, while Dora sings, shouts, and dances through her adventures, that she is just being true to herself—and that we could all enjoy life more if we just relaxed and joined in the fun, instead of being so critical. My 87-year-old companion and I left the theater feeling happy, refreshed, and touched by the kindness of this exuberant little film. And the monkey is great!
Dora (Isabela Moner) has spent her childhood growing up in the jungle along with her parents Cole (Michael Pena) and Elena (Eva Longoria). But now she needs to adapt to a whole new environment – high school. Aided by her cousin Diego (Jeff Wahlberg), Dora must learn the ways of suburban city life. Meanwhile, her parents take off on an adventure of their own – to search for a lost city of gold. A series of events sees Dora taking it on herself to find them along with her new classmates.
It started out funny and really good. It went in a great direction like how the new Jumanji stayed relevant to these times but then it just went bizarre. Eugenio Derbez is a horrible actor too so it made it worse. My family loved Dora growing up and they could have really made this funny. Isabela Monera is always fantastic. She carries this movie but unfortunately the bad acting, lack of adult humor and realistic storyline makes this movie impossible. Avoid at any cost.
At first I thoughts that itss a kiddish movie and took my nephew along with me.Did not expect it to turn out to be so good. The movie is filled with humour, I was constantly laughing throughout. Felt like I relived my childhood (of watching Dora) in the duration of those 2 hours. Loved it. A must watch for all the kids who watched Dora (and liked her) when they were kids.Would recommend everyone to go and watch this
My friend and I went to watch this movie as a joke (aka stupidothon) but I am SO glad we went to see it! There were some cringy part only younger kids would find funny but overall if was super funny and enjoyable! Very adventurous too with some surprises. I was laughing so hard at one point that I almost choked on my popcorn. I loved seeing a remake for this since this show was my childhood! These characters were SO great and their acting was very enjoyable.
I remain a bit perplexed over Dora and the Lost City of Gold. The film is clearly geared towards a teen audience – which wasn’t the audience for the original animated series.Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents, nothing could prepare Dora (Isabela Moner) for her most dangerous adventure ever – High School. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego (Jeff Wahlberg), a mysterious jungle inhabitant (Eugenio Derbez), and a rag tag group of teens on a live-action adventure to save her parents (Eva Longoria, Michael Peña) and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost city of gold.
Very good movie. Seen it today in theaters and it was very good. Dora starts as a child in the movie as her friend and cousin Diego moves to the city. 10 years later Dora comes to the city and goes to high school as a skipping and singing girl full of possitivity. Dora's cousin Diego is embarrassed by her actions and how she hasn't changed any since childhood just gotten bigger. Then when Dora and 3 others including Diego are put together for a school project there lured down these stairs and kidnapped into the jungle out to then rescue Dora's parents. A man who is actually a bad guy leads them through the jungle in search of him stealing ancient gold in an ancient city of gold. Watch this movie to find out who gets the gold and the secrets of the jungle and Dora's new friends. Its and interesting movie based off of Nickelodeon TV show Dora the explorer only now Dora is a teenager and not a little girl
I had a really good time watching this film. Although it's touted for children, people of all ages can appreciate this movie. Dora the character played by Isabelle Moner undoubtedly took the spotlight, remember her from Sicario Day of Soldado. Totally different character here and she did a fantastic job, also Michael Pena who played her father was awesome. The film was charming overall and anyone who grew up watching the cartoon on Nickelodon who can tolerate children oriented films with a love for travel and adventure will enjoy this one.
